24 hour Caregiver (Personal Support Worker) – TAP01MBB – Individualized Funding Resource Centre Society Tappen, BC –

$350 a day

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a senior woman in her home in Tappen, BC. She is non-verbal but fully aware and understands what is happening around her. The ideal candidate will carry out her daily care with diligence and attention (tube feedings, repositioning, and personal care) while also engaging her in meaningful companionship, including conversation, reading aloud, and watching television together.

Please note: A large dog lives in the home. Applicants must not have dog allergies.

Shift & Hours:

• Friday 7:00 pm to Saturday 7:00 pm (24 hours)·
• Saturday 7:00 pm to Sunday 7:00 pm (24 hours)·
• We will consider one person for the whole weekend, Friday night to Sunday night

Location: Tappen (Near White Post Auto Museum & Antiques Mall)

Rate: $350 per day

Care duties:

• Prepare and blend meals and give tube feedings (full training provided)
• Repositioning/Stretching and mobility exercises
• Personal care: hygiene, oral care, incontinence care, dressing
• Notice and report any changes in her condition right away
• Light housekeeping/Follow a daily care log

Companionship:

• Talk with her throughout the day and treat her with dignity
• Read aloud to her and watch TV with her
• Be patient and learn her cues

Overnight care:

• Sleep with a monitor to respond to any emergencies or discomfort throughout the night, as well as scheduled repositioning and a care change during the night.

Required Qualifications:

• A patient, caring person who is reliable and enjoys being around others
• No experience necessary
• Paid training provided
• Comfortable with hands-on personal care
• Non-smoker/Non-vaper (no smoking or vaping on the premises)
• Comfortable with a large dog; no dog allergies
• Scent-free: no perfume, cologne, or scented products, please
• References and background check required
