General Labourer– Valid Manufacturing
$22–$28 an hour – Full-time

The Position: The General Labourer performs clean up, grinding and buffing, material handling, light assembly work and other related duties as assigned. These employees will be trained through on-the-job training and will be guaranteed to succeed if they can follow directions and possess the willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:
- Assists where needed in the production of Valid mechanical or electrical products.
- Participates in material preparation through pretreatment dip tanks.
- Applies masking for multi-color applications.
- Manages loading and unloading of oven to facilitate smooth material flow.
- Assists in preparing coaches for slide installations.
- Performs grinding & buffing of metal and aluminum components.
- Material handling.
- Performs light component assembly work.
- Keeps the work area clean and tidy.
- Keeps accurate records in our time collection system using a computer.
Skills & Abilities:
- Willingness to contribute and participate as part of the team, shows initiative.
- Strong organizational ability, good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Uses all hand tools such as drills, grinders, hammers, screw drivers, vise grips, etc., as well as power tools such as chop-saws and band-saws.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for long periods, work on ladders and/or scaffolding
- Must be able to stoop, kneel and crouch at times to perform assigned tasks
- Must be able to use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects skillfully.
Requirements:
- No previous experience required; however, previous manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is an asset
- Able to work evening shifts
- Exhibits maturity, professionalism, and a customer-first focus
- Experience in using hand tools such as grinders, drills and routers is an asset.
- The ability to measure and cut material to the prescribed measurements.
- Competent writing and reading skills are a definite requirement.
