Manual Machinist – Mt Ida Machine and Welding Ltd

4121 45th Street SE, Salmon Arm, BC – $31.50–$45.00 an hour

“`Duties:“`

– Machining on various pieces of equipment used in the Forestry, Mining and other heavy industries

– Equipment maintenance
– Operate metalworking machines, such as a lathe, milling machines to shape and fabricate metal parts
– Read and interpret drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
– Use a variety of hand tools and precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to ensure accuracy of dimensions
– Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet specifications

“`Qualifications:“`
– High school diploma or equivalent

– Red Seal and/or Journeyman or equivalent years of experience

– People and Communications skills
– Proven experience as a metal machinist or similar role
– Proficient in operating metalworking machines such as lathes, milling machines,
– Strong knowledge of machining techniques and process

– Experience in Forestry Equipment an asset
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
– Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections
– Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
